Truth Telling Circles by Collective Communities
This fourth type of TTC creates a space for communal truth-telling. Here, anyone impacted or part of the child welfare industry can come into community together, witness truths, and use these truths to build a community movement. For decades, those involved with or affected by child welfare have been in conflict about what is needed to reform, transform, or even abolish child welfare practices, policies, or laws. This degree of metaconflict sustains and entrenches the system’s current laws and policies, upholding lateral oppression and infighting and stymying change efforts. Truth-telling breaks this cycle of violence and creates the path to formulating transformational action agendas.
